The Maharashtra Department of Women and Child Development has issued a clarification regarding the E-KYC verification process for the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. The department ensures that eligible women will not lose their benefits despite media reports suggesting otherwise. Over 60 lakh applicants failed to complete the E-KYC verification within the given time frame, leading to removal from the scheme.
The department highlighted that around 15 lakh applicants exceeded the scheme’s income threshold, while 5 lakh applicants were disqualified for owning four-wheeler vehicles. The WCD Department emphasized that every precaution has been taken to prevent eligible women from facing any injustice. A re-verification process is in place to address concerns of genuine beneficiaries facing benefit suspensions.
WCD Minister Aditi Tatkare affirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare scheme, assuring that it will continue without interruption. The department is working to ensure that women eligible for multiple welfare schemes receive benefits seamlessly. The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is progressing with the support of key officials and the trust of the women of Maharashtra.
