Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasized the Mahayuti government’s focus on farmers, women, laborers, youth, and citizens, highlighting record-breaking decisions for the state’s progress. The government has made significant strides in areas like loan waivers, financial aid for farmers, Ladki Bahin Yojana, industrial investments, metro networks, airports, highways, ports, and housing. Shinde urged the opposition to participate constructively in legislative sessions rather than resorting to boycotts.
Shinde, speaking ahead of the state legislature’s monsoon session, criticized the opposition for using boycotts as a political tool instead of addressing citizens’ concerns. He called for detailed discussions on monsoon preparedness, farmers’ issues, development projects, and public welfare. The government, under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has been transparent in presenting data on farmers and various issues.
Refuting neglect allegations, Shinde highlighted the government’s unprecedented financial aid to farmers, including a Rs 36,585 crore loan waiver scheme and a Rs 15,000 crore relief package. The government has also provided incentives to prompt farmers to repay crop loans on time. Shinde stressed the government’s commitment to assisting farmers beyond NDRF norms, increasing eligibility limits, and compensating for various losses.
Shinde assured farmers of support amid challenges like the El Niño effect, advising caution during sowing operations to avoid double sowing risks. He mentioned ongoing projects like the Mumbai-Pune Missing Link, rural water supply policy, road construction, Virar-Alibaug Multimodal Corridor, and metro projects. The government is promoting industrial investments worth Rs 90,000 crore to create jobs and plans to implement an AI policy for national development.
