Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde criticized his predecessor, Uddhav Thackeray, urging him to introspect rather than criticize those leaving the party. Shinde refuted claims of orchestrating defections, stating that leaders are joining his faction willingly due to its focus on development.
Speaking at a press conference welcoming Sachin Ahir, who switched from Uddhav Thackeray’s faction to Shinde’s and filed for the post of Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson, Shinde emphasized that their organization values integrity and attracts members based on merit. He highlighted the importance of public service and solidarity in times of need, contrasting their approach of unity with Thackeray’s alleged divisive tactics.
Shinde further criticized Thackeray’s leadership style, emphasizing their commitment to growth and unity within the Shiv Sena. He advised against disparaging former members and called for self-reflection instead. The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated their faction’s dedication to progress and improving the lives of the public, distancing themselves from power struggles.
