Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, despite being hospitalized, conducted a high-level meeting via video conferencing to assess the flood damage caused by heavy rainfall in Mumbai, Konkan, and Raigad. He urged officials to speed up rescue efforts and ensure swift relief for affected residents. The state has been facing severe floods due to continuous torrential rains, impacting areas like Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and Konkan.
Shinde, closely monitoring the crisis, mobilized party workers and officials to aid citizens on the ground. He directed ministers to oversee waterlogged areas in Raigad and Ratnagiri, ensuring the safe relocation of stranded individuals. In his role as the Guardian Minister of Mumbai, Shinde held discussions with municipal authorities to address monsoon-related issues promptly.
Despite his hospitalization for exhaustion and a throat infection, Shinde’s condition is now stable. He emphasized the need to remove hazardous trees and secure open manholes in Mumbai to prevent accidents. Minister Bharat Gogawale, following Shinde’s instructions, headed to Raigad to supervise rescue operations and assess flood conditions, with plans to report back to the Deputy CM.
