In a move to enhance law and order, the Maharashtra government has transferred nine Indian Police Service officers. Key districts like Satara, Sangli, Gadchiroli, Kolhapur, and Jalgaon will witness new leadership due to this administrative overhaul. The government aims to streamline police administration and boost the state’s security apparatus efficiency.
Tushar Doshi, the former Superintendent of Police in Satara, has been reassigned as the Superintendent of Police of Sangli. Nikhil Pingle, previously the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Pune, now takes over as the Superintendent of Police of Satara. Sandeep Ghuge has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Security) in the State Intelligence Department, Mumbai, after his duties in Sangli were concluded.
Yogesh Gupta, the former Superintendent of Police in Kolhapur, has been transferred to the Gadchiroli Range as Deputy Inspector General (Additional Charge). Nilotpal is now the new Superintendent of Police of Kolhapur, having been transferred from Gadchiroli. M Ramesh has been promoted to the Superintendent of Police of Gadchiroli.
The reshuffle also impacted the State Crime Investigation Department and northern Maharashtra. Maheshwar Reddy has moved from Jalgaon to the State Crime Investigation Department, Pune. Shrikant Dhiware now heads as the Superintendent of Police of Jalgaon, having moved from Dhule, while Rajkumar Shinde has been reassigned from Pune to Washim as Superintendent of Police.
The state government has directed the Director General of Police to ensure a smooth transition with public safety as the top priority. This decision, approved by the competent authority, aims to fortify the law-and-order framework across Maharashtra.
