In response to heavy rains in Maharashtra, Minister Aditi Tatkare oversaw the flood situation in Raigad, Ratnagiri, and other affected areas. Minister Tatkare emphasized the critical next 48 hours for these coastal districts and instructed immediate precautionary measures.
To address potential rain-related emergencies, the National Disaster Response Force stationed a team in Mahad. Additionally, a request for 145 more rescue personnel in Sudhagad and Roha regions was made. Minister Tatkare stays in touch with organizations in Karjat and Khopoli for flood assistance. The state government ensures necessary resources for these organizations and monitors the flood situation closely.
Minister Tatkare urged citizens to stay indoors unless necessary and avoid non-essential travel. Raigad faces severe impact from the monsoon, affecting state transport. Traffic on Mumbai-Goa National Highway was disrupted for over 32 hours due to heavy rains. Stranded commuters lack basic amenities, expressing frustration. A landslide blocking the highway in Ratnagiri was cleared, allowing traffic to resume cautiously.
