Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. announced that its total auto sales, including exports, reached 104,309 vehicles in January 2026, marking a 24% increase year-on-year. Domestic sales of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) reached 63,510 units, up by 25%, while commercial vehicle domestic sales stood at 27,656 units, showing a 22% increase.
The company reported a 5% year-on-year growth in total exports for January, amounting to 3,577 vehicles. Year-to-date exports for FY26 until January totaled 33,638 vehicles, reflecting a 23% increase. Mahindra & Mahindra also witnessed strong year-to-date performance across various segments, with utility vehicles showing a 19% rise in FY26 YTD passenger vehicle sales in January.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., highlighted the company’s robust performance in January, attributing it to the strong momentum from the previous year. The company achieved significant sales milestones, including 93,689 bookings for XUV7XO and XEV 9S within just 4 hours of opening bookings, amounting to a booking value of Rs. 20,500 Crore.
Three-wheeler sales, including electric models, surged by 28% year-on-year in January to 9,566 units. Year-to-date sales for FY26 also saw a notable 28% increase, reaching 92,012 units. Additionally, sales of light commercial vehicles in the 2-ton to 3.5-tonne segment rose by 23% to 23,647 units in January.
