Nida Khan, a key figure in the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) religious conversion and harassment case in Nashik, was apprehended by Maharashtra Police after eluding authorities. She was found in a residential apartment in Kaiser Colony, Naregaon, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where she had been staying with family. The arrest, carried out by a joint effort of Nashik Special Investigation Team (SIT), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Commissionerate, and the Crime Branch, followed days of monitoring.
Officials revealed that Khan’s location was tracked through technical surveillance and intelligence inputs. After the arrest, she was presented before a Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) for transit remand proceedings in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Subsequently, she was taken to Nashik for further questioning and legal procedures. The SIT confirmed that Khan was wanted in connection with a case registered at Devlali Camp Police Station under Crime Register No. 156/26.
An ongoing investigation into the case involves gathering additional information through the interrogation of the accused. If the involvement of other individuals surfaces during the probe, legal action will be taken against them as per the law. Nida Khan had previously sought anticipatory bail in a Nashik court, citing pregnancy, but the court denied interim relief. The case unfolded when a TCS employee accused her colleague, Danish Sheikh, of deceit and harassment.
Allegations suggest that Khan, Sheikh’s sister, made derogatory remarks about the complainant’s religion and coerced her to convert. It was also claimed that Khan and another accused, Tausif Akhtar, hid Sheikh’s marital status from the complainant. As the investigation progressed, more women came forward with harassment claims against senior TCS employees in Nashik. These women alleged facing mental and sexual harassment between February 2022 and March 2026, with their complaints reportedly disregarded by the HR department.
Seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the case so far. TCS clarified that Nida Khan was not an HR manager but a process associate without recruitment or leadership responsibilities. The company stated that no internal complaints had been received regarding the matter.
