Under Operation Chakravyuh, the Pratapgarh police in Rajasthan made a significant breakthrough by apprehending three drug smugglers and confiscating 1.203 kilograms of MD drugs, valued at around Rs 1.25 crore in the global market.
The operation, conducted jointly by the Dholapani Police Station and the District Special Team (DST), took place during a targeted roadblock. Superintendent of Police B. Aditya mentioned that a police team, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Gajendra Singh and led by Dholapani SHO Praveen Kumar, was conducting the roadblock near Barol Ghat when the arrests were made.
Two individuals, Shahrukh Khan and Dilawar Khan, were seen approaching on a motorcycle with a Madhya Pradesh registration number. Upon noticing the police, they tried to escape but were swiftly apprehended. Another motorcycle, with Safiullah as the pillion rider and Rahim Khan as the rider, was also intercepted. Rahim Khan was caught with 1.203 kg of MD drugs hidden under his T-shirt.
During interrogation, Rahim Khan disclosed that Shahrukh and Dilawar were acting as decoys to check for police presence while the main carrier transported the drugs. The three suspects, residents of Hathunia, were arrested, and the police are pursuing Safiullah, who managed to flee, and investigating the drug’s source and destination.
The successful operation involved the efforts of SHO Praveen Kumar, SI Bhanwarsingh, and members of the DST team, with Constables Vinod and Pankaj, along with Ramesh from the Cyber Cell, playing crucial roles. Further investigations are ongoing.
