A significant fire occurred at the Chitrakoota Kaushalya School near Jnanabharathi in Bengaluru’s Visvesvaraya Layout, causing panic in the vicinity. The fire, which started on the fifth floor of the school building, was noticed in the auditorium and swiftly spread throughout the floor. Fortunately, due to the school being closed for summer holidays, a major tragedy was averted.
The blaze led to the deployment of three fire tenders to the school premises. Firefighters successfully contained the fire after an extensive operation, with no casualties or injuries reported. The authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the fire’s cause and assess the damage incurred by the school property.
In a separate incident, a furniture showroom in Sanganakeri Cross, Mudalagi taluk of Belagavi district, was engulfed in flames. The SMK Furniture Shop was completely destroyed, with the fire causing extensive damage to furniture and other materials worth crores of rupees. Despite the destruction, the security guard, who was outside the showroom, escaped unharmed and promptly alerted the authorities upon noticing the fire.
Firefighters managed to control the blaze at the furniture showroom, and the Ghataprabha police have initiated an investigation into the incident. Initial findings suggest a possible electrical short circuit as the cause of the fire, although authorities are also looking into the circumstances surrounding the reported explosion and await a detailed technical assessment.
