A significant land scam involving government-owned Gram Samaj land worth crores of rupees has been discovered in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh. An FIR has been filed against 32 individuals, including former Municipal Council officials, employees, public representatives, and private individuals. The case, registered at Sambhal Kotwali police station, revolves around fraudulent transfer and encroachment of government land through forged documents and fabricated lease records.
The FIR reveals that approximately 2.367 hectares of Gram Samaj land along the Hasanpur-Moradabad Road was illicitly transferred to private individuals using forged records and manipulated official documents. The complainant alleges that the land, valued at several crores of rupees, was acquired illegally through manipulation of government revenue records.
According to the complaint, a mutation order was obtained in 2008 based on an alleged lease record from 1967. Subsequently, the Gram Samaj land was purportedly brought under private ownership and encroached upon. The FIR also accuses officials and employees of colluding in a conspiracy to transfer government land into private hands.
Among those implicated in the FIR are the former Executive Officer Rajkumar Gupta, clerk Veer Singh Badgujar, former Municipal Council Chairman Shahabuddin, and Shahid Khan. Additionally, individuals from Delhi and other districts have also been named in connection with the case. The complainant alleges that government records were fraudulently altered to enable the illegal transfer of Gram Samaj land, leading to the alleged misappropriation of public property worth crores of rupees.
