In a significant development in the Junior Engineer (JE) Combined Recruitment Examination-2020 paper leak case, the Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) has made a startling discovery. The original JE examination was leaked and subsequently canceled, and the re-examination conducted in September 2021 was also compromised, as per police officials. The SOG has dismantled a large paper-leak network based in Jalore and apprehended Ganpat Lal Bishnoi, an Assistant Engineer in the Rajasthan Public Works Department, who secured a high rank using a leaked question paper.
The investigation into the JE recruitment paper leak case revealed that the re-examination held on September 12, 2021, had its question paper leaked before the exam. This revelation led to the registration of a new case on January 19, 2026, by the SOG. Jagdish Bishnoi, identified as a primary accused, along with his associates, supplied question papers to candidates just before the examination. Ganpat Lal Bishnoi’s involvement in obtaining and using the leaked question paper to secure a top position in the merit list has led to his arrest and initiation of legal proceedings to revoke his appointment and promotion.
The same organized gang involved in leaking JE exam papers was found to be behind the leakage of Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination papers conducted between September 13 and 15, 2021. This indicates a rapid compromise of the integrity of two significant state-level recruitment exams within a short span of three days. The SOG, under ADG Vishal Bansal, is actively tracing the entire network with the aim of not only apprehending the culprits but also eliminating fraudulent officers who entered the system through unfair means.
