The police in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, revealed significant details in the murder case of lawyer Sanjay Saxena in Karaira. Kamlesh Sharma and Sunil Sharma were identified as the masterminds behind the murder, having orchestrated it by hiring three sharpshooters for almost 10 lakh rupees. Following this development, the Madhya Pradesh Bar Council strongly condemned the incident and declared a symbolic strike for Monday.
The Bar Council demanded severe punishment for the culprits and declared that lawyers would not represent the accused in this case. This decision has caused a ripple effect in judicial circles, leading state lawyers to abstain from court-related activities on Monday in protest. Additionally, they have called for the enactment of an Advocate Protection Act and urged the Chief Justice of the High Court to designate Monday’s cases as “not reached.”
Lawyer Sanjay Saxena, a resident of Sigdaua village, was shot while on his way to court in Karaira. The incident, occurring in broad daylight, instilled fear in the area. Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, with one still at large but expected to be apprehended soon, according to Shivpuri’s Superintendent of Police, Aman Singh Rathore. The police have seized the pistol and motorcycle used in the crime and are interrogating the arrested individuals to uncover further accomplices.
