The much-anticipated thriller ‘Patriot’, directed by Mahesh Narayanan and starring Malayalam cinema icons Mammootty and Mohanlal, unveiled a Behind The Scenes (BTS) video shot during filming in Sri Lanka. Actor Mohanlal shared the video on social media, announcing the film’s global release on April 23, 2026. The BTS footage showcased the airbase scenes with helicopters, planes, and fighter aircraft, featuring both Mohanlal and Mammootty after 18 years.
Fahaadh Faasil, seen in the video inside a fighter aircraft cockpit, revealed his role as the villain in ‘Patriot’ during an event. He also hinted at a sequel to his hit movie ‘Aavesham’ in 2027 or 2028. The film, set to hit screens worldwide on April 23 this year, has Mohanlal finishing his dubbing work, as confirmed by the film’s makers.
The team behind ‘Patriot’ wrapped up filming on January 4, with a BTS video of the stars on set shared to mark the occasion. Besides Mammootty and Mohanlal, the movie boasts a stellar cast including Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathy. A teaser released earlier heightened anticipation among fans and cinephiles, hinting at a plot involving social responsibility and government surveillance.
