Malaysia’s Muhammad Nafis Najmie Bin Darnalis shot a four-under 68 to top the first round at Pre-Qualifying III of the PGTI Qualifying School 2026 in Ahmedabad. Nafis, a Malaysian tour player, started strongly with a birdie and an eagle, adding two more birdies before a single bogey.

The 25-year-old Nafis, on his first India visit, expressed excitement about the PGTI platform for his professional journey. He highlighted his excellent putting performance and aims to maintain momentum in the upcoming rounds. India’s Anirudh Kamireddypalli secured the second spot with a score of 69, while American Jhared Hack and India’s Pranav Kaul shared the third position at 70.

The Qualifying School, a crucial event on the PGTI calendar, signifies the start of each season and serves as the sole qualifying route for players. This year’s event attracted over 450 golfers, including 39 international participants, competing in three 36-hole stages. The top qualifiers from the Final Stage will earn full cards for the 2026 PGTI season, with a prize purse of INR 10 lakh.
