Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Ian Borg, has arrived in New Delhi to participate in the 11th Raisina Dialogue. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, welcomed Borg to India, emphasizing the strong people-to-people ties between India and Malta.
The Raisina Dialogue, scheduled from March 5-7, is a significant annual conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics held in New Delhi since 2016. Organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the event brings together global leaders, policymakers, academics, industry experts, and journalists to discuss crucial international issues.
The theme of this year’s Raisina Dialogue, as stated by ORF, is “Saṁskāra – Assertion, Accommodation, Advancement,” focusing on the identity inheritance that enables civilizations to assert, accommodate differences, and advance through refinement. India and Malta share friendly bilateral ties, with historical diplomatic relations dating back to the 1960s.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb has also arrived in New Delhi for a State Visit and as the chief guest at the 11th Raisina Dialogue. Stubb, accompanied by a high-level delegation, will deliver the keynote address during his visit to India until March 7. This marks the Finnish President’s first official visit to India since taking office.
