A man in Bengaluru was arrested for allegedly killing his bedridden mother by throwing her from the fourth floor of a building. The incident occurred within the limits of the Rajarajeshwarinagar police station. The accused, identified as 42-year-old Venkatesh C., also known as Dasharath, reportedly carried his mother to the fourth floor and threw her, resulting in her immediate death.
The deceased has been identified as 75-year-old Savithramma. The accused claimed he committed the act because he was unable to care for his mother. The incident took place in a rented house where the accused was residing. The house owner, Vikram, lodged a complaint related to the case.
The police have registered a case under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and have initiated an investigation. The accused was taken into custody on the day of the incident. Further details about the case are pending as the investigation progresses.
A similar incident was reported in Karnataka’s Vijayanagara district earlier, where a man allegedly murdered his father, mother, and sister. The accused, Akshay Kumar, initially misled the police by filing a missing persons report in Bengaluru. However, upon questioning, he confessed to the killings, leading to the discovery of the bodies at their rented house.
In a separate incident in Bengaluru, a 33-year-old software engineer stabbed his father, a retired Navy Captain, and his mother, a dentist, to death following a financial dispute. The accused, identified as Rohan Chandra Bhat, was arrested and remanded in judicial custody shortly after the crime.
