A man accused of threatening Bihar’s new Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary, was apprehended in Ahmedabad by a joint team from Sanand and Bihar Police. Shekhar Yadav, 32, was located on the Sanand–Kadi Road through mobile surveillance. The incident originated from a threat call received at the Chief Minister’s office in Munger district, Bihar.
The case was filed under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, related to criminal intimidation. Following the threat, Bihar police collaborated with Ahmedabad Rural SP to track down the suspect in Gujarat. The coordination between the two state police forces led to the arrest of Yadav in Sanand.
Yadav, who had been residing in Sanand and working for a transport company, confessed to making the threatening call during police interrogation. The call was reportedly linked to a past altercation in Bihar. After his arrest, Yadav, originally from Banka district in Bihar, was handed over to Bihar Police for further investigation.
