A 25-year-old man from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested for pretending to be a Hindu youth on a messaging app to exploit a 17-year-old girl sexually. The man, using the name “Sonu,” coerced the girl into making nude video calls and meeting him in person for physical relations.
Identified as Bittukhan alias Sonu Rahishkhan, the man threatened the girl with publicizing intimate images when she refused his demands. He also gained access to her Gmail and Instagram accounts to monitor and pressure her. The girl reported the incident to her mother, who filed a complaint with the Kanbha Police Station.
The police, with the help of technical surveillance and cyber analysis, swiftly located and arrested the accused at his residence. The man, who works at a furniture shop, had concealed his marital status and fatherhood while assuming a false identity to deceive the victim. He confessed to communicating with multiple young women using similar identities.
Authorities revealed that the accused was in contact with several girls simultaneously. While no money was taken from the victim, the police are investigating if other girls were targeted. They advised caution to parents and young people, emphasizing the importance of verifying identities before sharing personal information online and seeking help if threatened.
