The joint team from Pali and Pachdevara police stations acted against the increasing theft cases in the area. The suspect, who got injured during the incident, is receiving medical treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the arrested individual was part of a larger network involved in stealing oil from transformers. Recent weeks had seen several cases of transformer oil theft in the district, leading to heightened patrolling and surveillance efforts. Acting on a tip-off, the police tried to intercept a suspicious car during a patrol.
The occupant of the vehicle attempted to flee and fired at the police when they tried to stop it. In response, the police fired back in self-defense, injuring the criminal. The accused, identified as Kuldeep alias Gabbar from Farrukhabad, was found with various items, including cash, a pistol, ammunition, stolen oil, and a mobile phone.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Alok Rajan Singh mentioned that legal proceedings have begun against the accused under relevant laws. The arrested individual is associated with a gang specializing in organized transformer oil theft and is wanted in multiple cases. The injured suspect will be interrogated to gather information about other gang members for further action.
This operation is part of a broader crackdown directed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to combat criminal activities. The police are intensifying their efforts across districts to tackle such crimes. Investigations are ongoing, with more details expected soon.
