A man collapsed and passed away due to a suspected heart attack at a political gathering organized by Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The deceased, identified as Siraj, a 37-year-old migrant worker from North India, had a history of heart issues and had undergone surgery a year ago.
The incident occurred while the man was standing at the crowded venue in KVP Garden near Sheelanayakkanpatti. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, doctors pronounced him dead. Salem police have initiated an investigation, although early reports indicate natural causes.
During the event, party leader Vijay was addressing party members, making his first public appearance in nearly two months. Despite the tragedy, the gathering continued with increased security measures and medical attention.
Vijay emphasized that his purpose was not to seek votes but to advocate for justice in Tamil Nadu. He criticized the ruling DMK for allegedly hindering his party’s activities while allowing other political groups to operate freely. The actor-turned-politician urged voters to resist being swayed by monetary influences and encouraged them to vote for his party’s symbol, the whistle.
