A 60-year-old man passed away after consuming spurious liquor, while his son experienced partial loss of eyesight in Bihar’s Samastipur district. The incident occurred in Bhakhri Bujurg village under the Musrigharari police station’s jurisdiction. The deceased was identified as Baleshwar Shah.
Baleshwar Shah’s son, Bablu Shah, revealed to the police that he had bought two tetra-packets of liquor, with his father purchasing one. The liquor was delivered to their home, and the payment was made online on January 1. Evidence of the online payment was provided by Bablu Shah.
Following the consumption of the liquor, both father and son’s health deteriorated on January 1. They were admitted to a private hospital but were discharged the same day. However, their condition worsened on the night of January 2, leading them to be readmitted to a private hospital. Baleshwar Shah eventually passed away during treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital.
The family cremated the body without informing the local police, but the incident was later reported by Bablu Shah’s wife to the Musrigharari police station SHO. An FIR has been registered, and the tetra-packets of liquor have been seized for forensic examination to determine the exact cause of death.
