In a significant development, the Shahabad Police and Special Task Force (STF) in Uttar Pradesh have captured a man who had a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head and had been on the run for almost 13 years. The individual, identified as Vipin Singh or Raju, was wanted for various serious offenses, including attempted murder.
The successful operation, overseen by the Superintendent of Police in Hardoi, was carried out based on actionable intelligence and led to the arrest of Vipin Singh in Mohalla Kheda Azmat Khan, Shahabad town.
Vipin Singh had managed to evade authorities since 2013 despite multiple attempts to apprehend him. The Inspector General of Lucknow Range had offered a reward of Rs 50,000 for his capture, highlighting the severity of the charges against him.
The joint effort between Kanpur City STF and Shahabad Police resulted in Vipin Singh’s arrest near Ansi Railway Station. Upon his apprehension, the police found an Android mobile phone and Rs 670 in cash in his possession.
Authorities disclosed that Vipin Singh is involved in four different cases at the Shahabad police station, with charges ranging from attempted murder to other criminal activities. Legal proceedings have commenced following his arrest, and investigations are ongoing to uncover any potential connections he may have to other criminal acts in the area.
Officials emphasized that this arrest not only bolsters law enforcement in Hardoi district but also underscores the state government’s commitment to a safe Uttar Pradesh and the Chief Minister’s resolute stance against crime.
