An unidentified man was discovered hanging from a railing in Dum Dum Park in Kolkata’s northern outskirts on a Thursday morning. The Bidhannagar Police have initiated an investigation into the incident. The deceased, believed to be aged between 30 and 35, remains unidentified at this time.
After the body was found, the Bidhannagar Police started their inquiries to determine the man’s identity. Local residents first noticed the man hanging from the railing during their morning walk and promptly informed the authorities. Responding to the alert, officers from the Lake Town Police Station, part of the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, reached the scene and retrieved the body. The incident, occurring in a bustling area, has caused a stir.
Residents in the vicinity observed that the man’s feet were touching the ground, leading to questions about the circumstances of his death. Speculation has arisen among locals, pondering whether it was a suicide or if foul play was involved, with suspicions that the body might have been placed there post-mortem to stage a suicide. The community also expressed surprise at how such an event could occur unnoticed in a busy neighborhood.
