A tragic incident of domestic violence has come to light in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, where a man, identified as Sandeep Das, allegedly murdered his wife and three children during a domestic dispute. The horrifying event took place in the Chandanpatti area under the jurisdiction of Pator Police Station early on Tuesday morning. Sandeep Das, who hails from Dalkhola in West Bengal, worked at a poultry farm in Chandanpatti along with his wife, Phool Kumari Das (30), and their children.
According to the police, the accused unleashed a violent attack on his family using a baton and sharp-edged weapons in a fit of anger. Reports suggest that Sandeep and his wife were known to have frequent heated arguments. Tragically, the altercation on Tuesday morning turned deadly, resulting in Sandeep brutally assaulting his wife and three children, leading to fatal injuries.
The brutal assault claimed the lives of Sandeep’s wife and two children on the spot, while the third child passed away during treatment at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital. Following the attack, Sandeep also attempted to end his own life and sustained injuries. He is currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
Chandra Bhushan Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Pator Police Station, confirmed that the police promptly responded to the incident and have launched an investigation into the matter. The bodies have been taken for post-mortem examination, and the weapons used in the crime have been confiscated by the district police.
