Raj Singh, released by the CBI after being arrested in connection with the murder of West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s Personal Assistant Chandranath Rath, commended the central agency for its impartial investigation. Singh, speaking to media, expressed his innocence, stating he was falsely arrested and mentally harassed by the Ayodhya Special Operations Group. He emphasized that he had no involvement in the crime and provided evidence during interrogation to prove his innocence.
Singh highlighted the thoroughness of the CBI’s investigation, providing alibis for his whereabouts during the crime and asserting his lack of presence at the scene. He thanked the CBI for their impartial probe while criticizing the SOG and administration for negligence and framing him for a crime he did not commit. Singh, identifying himself as a BJP leader, lamented the tarnishing of his image and reiterated his commitment to public service, distancing himself from criminal activities.
The CBI recently arrested the fifth suspect, Vinay Rai alias Pumpum Rai, in connection with Chandranath Rath’s murder from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Rai, aged 40 and originally from Ghazipur’s Zamani area, was apprehended by the central agency officials.
