A 36-year-old man, identified as Khanduraj Davalaji, tragically shot himself following a domestic argument with his wife in Kalaburagi city, Karnataka. The dispute arose over suspicions regarding his wife’s character, leading to the extreme step.
Davalaji had a history of frequent quarrels with his wife, Priya, spanning over a year, with allegations of an extramarital affair. Despite family interventions and police counseling, tensions persisted.
According to Priya, her husband had exhibited aggressive behavior, including threats of violence and plans to harm her. She recounted instances where he attempted to drug and harm her, prompting them to flee their home out of fear for their safety.
The situation escalated when Davalaji allegedly drugged their children and assaulted Priya, culminating in his self-inflicted fatal gunshot. The police are investigating the source of the unlicensed firearm used in the incident.
Chowk police responded to the scene, accompanied by a Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) team for investigation. Davalaji had previously accused his wife of infidelity during his time working abroad, adding complexity to the ongoing inquiry.
