Michael Carrick made a successful debut as Manchester United triumphed over local rivals Manchester City 2-0 at Old Trafford. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring in the 65th minute with a well-executed counterattack goal, followed by Patrick Dorgu doubling the lead in the 76th minute, securing the victory for the home team.

Manchester City struggled to match the pace of their neighbors throughout the game, with Erling Haaland failing to make an impact at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Arsenal missed an opportunity to capitalize on City’s loss, settling for a goalless draw against Nottingham Forest, extending their lead at the top of the table to seven points.

In other matches, Joao Pedro’s goal guided Chelsea to a 2-0 win over Brentford, Florian Wirtz scored for Liverpool against Burnley, and Sunderland secured a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. Leeds United clinched a 1-0 win against Fulham, while West Ham grabbed a crucial 2-1 victory over Tottenham, with Callum Wilson scoring the decisive goal in the 93rd minute.
