Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar expressed deep gratitude and solidarity with the Muslim community during his address at the Millat Times Conclave 2026 held at the India Islamic Cultural Centre. The event celebrated the anniversary of Millat Times, known for its journalism focus and public-interest issues. Aiyar conveyed his happiness at being invited by Millat Times, emphasizing the significance of directly connecting with the Muslim community.
Aiyar highlighted the essential role of Muslims in India’s national fabric, describing them as an integral part of the country. Drawing inspiration from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s metaphor, he stressed that Muslims are a vital pillar of the nation’s structure. Aiyar pledged to stand with the Muslim community, expressing his desire to always remain connected with them.
In an earlier interview, Aiyar questioned India’s approach towards Pakistan compared to China. He raised concerns about maintaining hostility towards Pakistan while engaging in diplomatic talks with China, especially given China’s support for Pakistan during past conflicts. Aiyar urged for dialogue and diplomacy in India’s dealings with Pakistan, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on peaceful resolutions.
