The village of Tajpur in Bihar’s Samastipur district celebrated as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a talented left-handed batsman, was selected for India’s T20I tours of Ireland and England, along with the Asian Games in Japan. Sooryavanshi’s inclusion in all three squads by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia brought joy to his village, with people gathering at his home to celebrate the achievement. His family, neighbors, and well-wishers shared sweets and burst crackers in excitement.
Sooryavanshi’s father, Sanjeev Sooryavanshi, expressed immense happiness at his son’s accomplishment, highlighting the hard work Vaibhav has put in since childhood to play for the country. The young cricketer, known for his impressive performance in the IPL 2026, will represent India A in a tri-series in Sri Lanka before joining the senior team. If he debuts in Ireland or England, he will become the youngest Indian player to feature in international cricket before turning 16.
