Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh stressed the importance of peace for progress and urged unity among the state’s people for lasting harmony. In an effort to enhance infrastructure in Assembly constituencies, Singh launched five development projects in Langthabal. He highlighted his consistent engagement with officials, MLAs, and various communities to promote peace.
Singh mentioned his extensive visits to both hill and valley regions, including areas like Jiribam and Senapati, to address public concerns firsthand. He noted a strong desire among all communities for peace restoration. The Chief Minister expressed worries about recent disruptions to the peace process and assured that those responsible would be identified soon.
Projects inaugurated included three water supply schemes and two community halls in Naran Konjil Mayai Leikai and Naorem Leikai. Singh called on citizens to uphold harmony and stay vigilant against divisive elements. He promised to continue developmental work in all regions, including remote areas, despite challenges.
Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho praised Singh’s proactive approach and outreach efforts, especially in remote regions like Jiribam and Senapati. Dikho emphasized the need for unity between the government and the public to achieve peace and progress. Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam highlighted the benefits of the newly launched projects for residents, ensuring access to clean water and addressing community needs.
Shyam also raised concerns about poor inter-village road conditions and urged the Chief Minister to take action. Despite earlier delays in development due to legal issues, progress has now resumed. Shyam expressed optimism that the current government would bring improved infrastructure and sustained development to the people. Senior officials, including Imphal West Deputy Commissioner Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, were present at the event.
