Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh reiterated the government’s dedication to advancing higher education and skill development in the state during the 15th convocation ceremony of Manipur University. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with institutions like Manipur University to provide youth with optimal opportunities. Singh praised the graduating students for their hard work, resilience, and achievements, highlighting Manipur University’s role as a hub of intellectual pursuit and societal problem-solving.
Singh commended the 572 students from Manipur University who secured placements in government and private-sector roles over the past two years. He underscored that these graduates not only carry their degrees but also the values and sense of responsibility instilled by the university, serving as catalysts for national progress. The Chief Minister encouraged students to embrace Prime Minister Modi’s vision of being “job creators instead of job seekers” for a brighter future.
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla also addressed the convocation, expressing pride in the students’ accomplishments and the opportunities that lie ahead. Over 1,000 graduates were conferred degrees, with 332 receiving gold medals for their exceptional academic performance. The convocation, held after a 12-year hiatus since 2013, marked a significant milestone for the academic community.
The event, attended virtually by students and faculty members from various colleges, was graced by Chancellor Prof. T. Tirupati Rao, Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, and other dignitaries. The ceremony symbolized not just the end of an academic journey but the commencement of a new phase filled with prospects and responsibilities for the graduates.
