Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh reiterated his government’s dedication to advancing yoga for a healthier society. Alongside Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, he joined the state-level celebration of the 12th International Yoga Day 2026 at the Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium. The event emphasized the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” drawing enthusiastic participation from various segments of society.
The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of yoga in promoting well-being and resilience in Manipur. He highlighted yoga’s influence on healthy living, inner balance, and overall wellness, benefiting both physical and mental health. The 12th International Yoga Day was marked across Manipur with broad engagement, aligning with the global celebration of yoga and its enduring advantages.
The program commenced with the live broadcast of the national event from Kolkata, featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address. Governor Bhalla, Chief Minister Singh, and other dignitaries participated in the event, which attracted over 1,000 individuals from diverse backgrounds. The active involvement showcased the increasing recognition of yoga’s role in enhancing holistic health and well-being.
Governor Bhalla led the participants in various yoga poses, advocating for the integration of yoga into daily routines for a healthy lifestyle.
