Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh highlighted the importance of a transparent and merit-based recruitment system in government services to build public trust in governance and institutions. He reiterated that transparency and fairness are top priorities for the state government. The Chief Minister commended a private coaching center for its dedication in guiding civil service aspirants despite challenges like the Covid-19 pandemic and the state’s law and order situation.
At a felicitation event for successful candidates of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) 2022 batch, CM Singh questioned the new recruits about any doubts regarding transparency in the recruitment process. Upon receiving a unanimous “No” from the candidates, he affirmed that maintaining transparency and fairness is the government’s primary focus. Singh disclosed that he purposely refrained from contacting the MPSC Chairman before the exam results were declared, ensuring an impartial and transparent recruitment process.
Expressing contentment with the selection process, CM Khemchand Singh praised the merit-based success of the candidates and emphasized the government’s satisfaction with their clean record. He announced the implementation of the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Civil Services by the BJP-led government in Manipur, allocating Rs 2.8 crore annually to support the top 200 civil service aspirants in their preparation.
Retired IAS officer R.K. Nimai Singh, speaking at the event, congratulated the successful candidates and advised them to uphold integrity, honesty, and dedication in their careers. He cautioned against engaging in corruption, drug abuse, or unethical behavior that could tarnish the civil services’ reputation. Nimai Singh highlighted the crucial role of MPSC-selected officers in driving Manipur’s development due to their deep understanding of the state’s needs and aspirations.
During the program, the Chief Minister, alongside other dignitaries, honored the successful candidates of the MPSC 2022 examination for their accomplishments.
