Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla highlighted the importance of using force judiciously to maintain public trust in the state’s security personnel. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh also praised the security forces for their role in ensuring law and order in Manipur. Both leaders attended the Investiture Ceremony for the Governor’s Unit Citation 2026 in Imphal.
Governor Bhalla, a former Union Home Secretary, expressed gratitude for the armed forces’ dedication and courage in upholding peace in Manipur. He emphasized the collective excellence and commitment of security personnel in maintaining stability. The Governor also recognized the families of security forces for their support and sacrifices.
During the ceremony, Governor Bhalla awarded Governor’s Citations to exceptional units of the Army, Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, Border Roads Task Force, and Manipur Police for their outstanding service. Chief Minister Singh praised the security forces for their humanitarian assistance and efforts in restoring peace among communities. The event concluded with a reaffirmation of stakeholders’ commitment to peace and development in Manipur.
