Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla highlighted the significance of the National Integration Tour in promoting understanding of India’s diversity and cultural unity. During his visit to the Assam Rifles headquarters in Pallel, he flagged off a team participating in the National Integration Tour 2025-2026. The team, consisting of leaders from Civil Society Organisations and Self-Help Groups, toured Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Guwahati, and Shillong over 15 days.
Maj. Gen. Gaurav Sharma and Brigadier Robeen Chatterjee of Assam Rifles welcomed the Governor and the team. Bhalla commended Assam Rifles for fostering national integration and people-to-people connections. He stressed the importance of such tours in enhancing participants’ understanding of India’s diversity and cultural unity, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
Governor Bhalla urged citizens to engage with all parts of the country to promote unity and harmony. He encouraged tour participants to spread the message of national unity in Manipur. The team members shared their tour experiences and thanked Assam Rifles for organizing the enlightening visit. Bhalla also interacted with trainees undergoing skill development training, motivating them to seize opportunities for personal growth and self-reliance.
In Tengnoupal district, the Governor, accompanied by the First Lady Jyoti Bhalla, planted saplings at the Deputy Commissioner’s office as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. District officials briefed Bhalla on administrative and security matters in the region, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives for community development and integration.
