A tragic incident occurred in Bengaluru as a Manipuri woman, identified as 20-year-old Hanna Inaka, lost her life in a road accident involving a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus. The incident, which took place within the Marathahalli police station limits, was captured on video and shared on social media, sparking public outrage. The woman was riding a scooter with a friend when the BMTC bus hit them from behind, causing her to fall off the scooter and be run over by the bus.
The video footage shows the severity of the accident, with the woman first coming under the front wheel of the bus and then being run over by the rear wheels. Despite sustaining severe injuries, she tragically succumbed to her wounds. The public has expressed anger over the reckless driving behavior of the BMTC bus driver. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident to ascertain the details surrounding the tragic event.
This is not the first such incident involving BMTC buses in Bengaluru. In previous cases, similar accidents have resulted in fatalities. One such incident on January 10 claimed the life of a 28-year-old man, Kanakaraj, who was also run over by a BMTC bus near Electronics City. Another incident on November 20 last year saw two individuals losing their lives in separate accidents involving BMTC buses in different police station limits in Bengaluru. The series of accidents has raised concerns about road safety and the need for stricter measures to prevent such tragedies.
