Amid allegations of a sting operation, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati has labeled it a “well-planned conspiracy” aimed at tarnishing the party’s image before the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Mayawati clarified that the party’s candidate selection process is transparent and thorough, involving assessments of various factors like social status, political background, and loyalty.
She emphasized that the BSP, representing the interests of diverse communities and economically weaker sections, operates independently without relying on major capitalists. Mayawati accused certain groups of trying to discredit the party due to its non-alignment with narrow, casteist, and communal ideologies, especially during election periods. Additionally, she highlighted that the media’s scrutiny of candidate selection aims to divert attention from other parties’ electoral strategies.
Mayawati urged party members to ignore rumors and concentrate on gearing up for the upcoming polls in 2027. She stressed the importance of staying focused on the party’s goals and not falling prey to sponsored conspiracies orchestrated by rival political factions. The BSP leader called for unity among party workers and media personnel to uphold the integrity of the party’s mission for 2027.
