Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati has called for a serious discussion on critical issues like inflation, unemployment, women’s safety, paper leaks, and donation misappropriation at the Ram Temple. As the Monsoon Session of Parliament commences on July 20, Mayawati emphasized the need for lawmakers to address these concerns instead of disrupting proceedings with protests. She highlighted the public outrage over alleged donation theft at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, attributing it to those who politicized religion for electoral gains.
Mayawati also drew attention to various other pressing matters, including post-election scenarios in West Bengal, negligence-related deaths of pregnant women in Rajasthan, women’s safety issues, irregularities in welfare schemes, corruption in government programs, police encounters, and demolition activities. She expressed concerns that these developments were undermining the welfare principles of the Constitution and citizens’ rights.
The BSP chief further pointed out the impact of external factors such as the Iran conflict on the Indian economy and people’s lives, coupled with the rupee depreciation, underscoring the collective national importance of addressing these issues. Urging both the government and opposition to prioritize national interests over political differences, Mayawati warned about the potential worsening conditions for the underprivileged if these challenges are not effectively tackled.
Emphasizing the need for a peaceful and constructive Monsoon Session, Mayawati stressed the importance of upholding democratic traditions and ensuring that institutions work together to alleviate the burdens faced by people amidst challenging social, political, and economic circumstances.
