Meghalaya has been honored with three awards at the 6th Digital Transformation Summit and Awards in the national capital. The awards recognize the state’s excellence in geospatial technologies, public service delivery, and digital health services. This achievement showcases Meghalaya’s advancement in technology-driven governance under Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma’s leadership.
The accolades cover various sectors such as urban development, infrastructure planning, public service delivery, and healthcare. They demonstrate how digital innovation is enhancing governance outcomes and improving citizens’ quality of life. Meghalaya ONE, a unified digital platform facilitating access to government schemes and services, was acknowledged for its innovative use of technology in enhancing public service delivery.
In the geospatial category, the Meghalaya State GIS and UAV Centre received an award for its excellence in utilizing geospatial technologies for transportation, urban development, and other projects. The Meghalaya State Geo Portal, powered by AI-based analytics, provides real-time and historical data for evidence-based decision-making in various areas.
Moreover, the Health Department’s National Health Mission in Meghalaya was recognized for its innovative digital health services and public health data analytics. The MOTHER app, which tracks maternal and child health indicators using real-time data, played a significant role in reducing maternal deaths and the Infant Mortality Rate in the state.
The awards were presented by Governance Now, a publication focusing on public policy and governance. They serve as a motivation for Meghalaya to continue its digital reforms and strengthen transparent and accountable governance systems.
