In response to the alleged NEET-UG entrance exam paper leak controversy, the Union Ministry of Education has initiated strict administrative action. The government has launched a thorough investigation into the alleged paper leaks, starting with seeking a detailed report on the awarding of an operational contract to a private firm, COEMPT.
Investigators are scrutinizing COEMPT’s technical eligibility and past performance records to understand how it was entrusted with critical responsibilities related to the examination infrastructure. The government is treating the alleged data breach and paper leak seriously, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against any accountable institutional officials or external representatives.
The ministry is actively engaging with cybersecurity agencies and exam board representatives to assess the alleged vulnerability fully. Simultaneously, a high-level committee of technical experts has been formed to enhance examination security by implementing stricter biometric verification and advanced encryption protocols for paper transmission.
To ensure examination security, the government has assigned the primary investigation to premier central agencies and has taken steps like using Indian Air Force planes to transport exam papers. The ministry has pledged a complete overhaul of the examination management protocol based on the final findings, aiming for transparency and zero tolerance for malpractice in the future.
