Mehsana General Hospital in Gujarat celebrated the 77th Republic Day by organizing a significant public health initiative. The hospital conducted a mega surgery camp that resulted in 268 successful minor surgeries, surpassing the initial target of 77 procedures. The event saw the active involvement of doctors, paramedical staff, and administrators, showcasing a united effort towards patient well-being.
The surgery camp, overseen by Civil Surgeon Dr. Gopi Patel, took place across five operating theaters within the hospital premises. Over 10 surgeons and close to 100 healthcare workers, including nursing and paramedical staff, dedicated themselves to ensuring the smooth execution of the surgeries. The procedures encompassed various conditions such as ear lobe repair, hernia, lipoma, cysts, boils, warts, and cataract-related eye surgeries.
All patients underwent thorough medical examinations and essential tests before their respective surgeries. The hospital authorities made provisions for post-operative care, including meals and refreshments for the patients post-surgery. Additionally, patients received medications and first-aid kits as part of the discharge process, ensuring their continued well-being.
In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, each patient received a sapling and a jute bag upon discharge. A total of 268 patients benefited from this healthcare initiative, which aimed to provide quality medical services to the community.
