Hollywood actors Michael Douglas and Michael J. Fox recently reunited, 31 years post their film “The American President” debut in 1995. In a photo shared by Fox on Instagram, the two stars were seen together, captioned as “Another Cali reunion. My American President.” The movie featured Douglas as President Andrew Shepherd and Fox as Lewis Rothschild, a presidential staffer.
The film depicted President Shepherd’s romance with lobbyist Sydney Ellen Wade towards the end of his term, amidst legislative efforts and re-election campaigning. Notably, the movie, produced by Rob Reiner and written by Aaron Sorkin, led to Sorkin’s renowned series “The West Wing.” It received multiple award nominations, including five Golden Globes and an Oscar nod for best score.
Fox has been reconnecting with former colleagues, including a dinner with “Back to the Future” co-star Christopher Lloyd, as shared on his Instagram. Currently starring in “Shrinking” season 3 alongside Harrison Ford, Fox, diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, returned to acting to portray Gerry, a Parkinson’s patient, in the show. Reflecting on his experience working with Ford, Fox expressed his admiration for the opportunity.
