Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Virendra Kumar, introduced the “JEEVAN” mobile application and “SHATAYU” geriatric caregiver dashboard to improve the well-being and empowerment of senior citizens. These initiatives aim to enhance safety, care, dignity, and support for the elderly across the nation. The JEEVAN app serves as a digital platform offering various features to cater to the needs of senior citizens, including information on government schemes, emergency assistance, and details of senior citizen homes.
The JEEVAN app is designed with a user-friendly interface and accessibility features to ensure ease of use for elderly users. In parallel, the SHATAYU dashboard supports caregiving services for senior citizens by providing information on the availability of Geriatric Caregivers in specific districts and states. Both platforms focus on strengthening the support systems for senior citizens and promoting their overall well-being.
Moreover, the Ministry organized a virtual program on “Creating a Well-Functioning Care Economy,” highlighting best practices in the care economy from different states. The event featured discussions on key policy issues, implementation gaps, and actionable recommendations in the realm of caregiving services. Social Justice and Empowerment Secretary Sudhansh Pant also shared insights during the program.
