Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju led a meeting to discuss the roadmap for Hajj-2027 and evaluate the recent Hajj-2026 pilgrimage. The meeting, held at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi, saw the Minister acknowledging the successful completion of Hajj-2026, where 1.75 lakh Indian pilgrims participated.
Rijiju attributed the success of Hajj-2026 to the collaborative efforts of various Ministries, departments, the Hajj Committee of India, State Hajj Committees, the Indian Hajj Mission in Saudi Arabia, and Saudi authorities. Their combined dedication ensured a smooth and dignified pilgrimage experience for the Indian pilgrims.
During the meeting, officials from different Ministries, including Minority Affairs, External Affairs, Civil Aviation, Health and Family Welfare, and Home Affairs, along with representatives from the Hajj Committee of India and other stakeholders, participated in the discussions. The Indian Hajj Mission received two Labbaytum Awards from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for “Best Hajj Coordination and Communication” at the Khitamahu Misk ceremony, marking a historic achievement.
