The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) marked the 12th International Day of Yoga at Sunder Nursery in New Delhi. The event, held in collaboration with Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) and Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI), focused on the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” Santosh Kumar Sarangi, MNRE Secretary, emphasized the importance of yoga for overall well-being and encouraged regular practice for mental and physical health.
Participants engaged in a collective yoga session, underscoring the increasing acknowledgment of yoga as a vital aspect of a healthy lifestyle. The event also aimed to raise awareness about preventive healthcare and holistic wellness. MNRE’s involvement highlighted its dedication to cultivating a healthy work environment and supporting clean energy initiatives for sustainable development.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation, in partnership with the Airports Authority of India, also commemorated the 12th International Day of Yoga. Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha advocated for incorporating yoga, pranayama, and meditation into daily routines for improved health, energy, discipline, and balance. Various other ministries and government bodies across India joined in celebrating the IDY 2026, promoting the adoption of yoga for enhanced well-being and productivity.
