The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has given the green light for the four-laning of the Nagaur–Bikaner section of National Highway-62 (NH-62). This project, estimated at Rs 1,359.33 crore, will operate under the Build-Operate-Transfer (Toll) model. The four-lane highway aims to enhance connectivity in Western Rajasthan, easing transportation and opening up new investment and job opportunities.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed satisfaction with the approval, attributing the progress in infrastructure development in Rajasthan to the government’s efforts. He highlighted the continuous expansion of a modern and safe road network across the state to support economic growth. The four-laning project is expected to boost economic activities in Nagaur, Bikaner, and nearby regions, aligning with the vision of a developed Rajasthan.
Nagaur MP and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party Chief Hanuman Beniwal acknowledged Union Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for approving the Rs 1,360 crore project. Beniwal emphasized that widening the National Highway between Nagaur and Bikaner will enhance travel convenience and benefit the public. This upgrade is seen as a significant step towards realizing long-term development goals for Rajasthan.
