The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the transfer of two senior IPS officers. Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, a 1995-batch officer, is now the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Arunachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, Mukesh Singh, a 1996-batch officer, has been appointed as the DGP of Ladakh, as per an official notification.
An official notification, approved by the competent authority, states that the current DGP of Arunachal Pradesh, Anand Mohan, a 1994-batch IPS officer, will be relocated to Delhi and is expected to join the Delhi Police.
Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal previously held the position of DGP of Ladakh before this new assignment, while Mukesh Singh was on central deputation with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
Mukesh Singh, who was originally part of the Jammu and Kashmir cadre before its merger with the Arunachal Pradesh–Goa–Mizoram–Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, had served as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Jammu Range before his central deputation.
Both Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal and Mukesh Singh, along with Anand Mohan, belong to the AGMUT cadre. Anand Mohan took over as the DGP of Arunachal Pradesh in early June 2023, succeeding Satish Golcha, who was then transferred to Delhi.
In a previous appointment on June 7, 2023, Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal was named the Head of Police for the Union Territory of Ladakh.
