The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) recently conducted an industry interaction focusing on the PM-SETU scheme in the Rajasthan cluster. The event aimed to enhance industry involvement in skilling initiatives, particularly in the Bhiwadi industrial hub of Rajasthan.
This initiative included a comprehensive presentation on the PM-SETU Scheme, along with discussions with industry representatives to outline actionable strategies for its successful implementation in the region. The Rajasthan cluster, known for its rapid growth in manufacturing sectors like automotive, engineering, electronics, logistics, and green industries, was highlighted during the event.
The gathering brought together prominent industry stakeholders, policymakers, and leaders from the skill development sector to reinforce industry engagement in skilling programs. The emphasis was on aligning training programs with industry demands, thereby creating sustainable job opportunities for local youth in the region.
Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupendra Yadav, stressed the significance of integrating skill development with sustainable industrial progress. He emphasized the role of skill development in various sectors for generating employment opportunities, underscoring the importance of the PM-SETU scheme in this context.
Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, highlighted the objectives of PM-SETU, aiming to reduce industry costs related to recruitment and training while enhancing employment prospects for the youth. He mentioned the program’s direct benefits for CSR beneficiaries and its role in promoting inclusive growth through skill development initiatives.
Chaudhary also discussed the potential of Sector Skill Councils to serve as Anchor Industry Partners (AIPs) and suggested collaborations between industries and universities to strengthen training frameworks. He emphasized the need to modernize Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into centers of experiential learning with advanced infrastructure and sports facilities, transforming them into comprehensive educational hubs for youth.
