Mitchell Starc’s exceptional four-wicket haul in the death overs shifted the momentum in favor of Delhi Capitals against Rajasthan Royals. Despite half-centuries from Dhruv Jurel and skipper Riyan Parag, Rajasthan Royals were restricted to 193/8 in 20 overs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Starc, after conceding 28 runs in his initial two overs, staged a remarkable comeback by taking four wickets in his final two overs, conceding only 12 runs.
Rajasthan Royals, at 160/2 in the 14th over, seemed to be cruising with Parag’s quick 51 runs. However, Starc’s variations and Lungi Ngidi’s pace-off deliveries caused a collapse, as RR lost six wickets for 33 runs in the last six overs. Parag’s aggressive batting, along with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s quick 46, initially put RR in a commanding position before the collapse.
Before Starc’s impactful spell, Parag and Sooryavanshi had set the stage with their aggressive stroke play. Parag’s quickfire fifty off 23 balls and Sooryavanshi’s attacking innings entertained the fans, but Starc’s brilliance with the ball turned the game around for Delhi Capitals.
DC’s fielding lapses, including missed catches, added drama to the match, but ultimately, Starc’s bowling display and DC’s resilience helped them claw back into the contest and restrict RR to a manageable total.
